Submission Guidelines

General:
We accept only email submissions.
Work published in print or in online journals (this excludes personal blogs, workshops, etc.) should not be sent.
Include your name (or pen name) and a brief bio (around 50 words or so) with your submission. A list of your publications is nice, but include a little bit about the person behind the words.
To help keep our emails organized, please include your name in the subject line.
We are open to experienced and newer writers alike and would love to showcase works from younger writers that show promise. Just send us some good stuff!
Authors retain all rights. We just ask that you mention Clearfield Review if your work is published again.
We are also a non-profit organization. Sorry, that means zero pay for acceptances!
And please don't send porn or graphic erotica. Please.
Poetry: Up to three poems should be sent in the body of the email. Attachments will not be opened. Poems may be in any form, on any topic, and of any length. They just need to be good! Simultaneous submissions for poetry are okay. Please send an email as soon as your poem is accepted elsewhere. Please send poetry submissions to: cr.poetry(at)yahoo(dot)com | Prose: Short stories should be preferably between 500 and 2,000 words long. Any longer than 3,000 and it'll need a coat and hat to really impress us! Novel excerpts and creative non-fiction are also accepted. Only send a maximum of three pieces in the body of the email. Artwork and Photography:
We would love to feature drawings, photos, paintings, etc. as well. The aesthetic we look for are the more conceptual, abstract, surreal, dark, or eccentric. But anything could strike our fancy, so send away!
If you would like your artwork featured, please email us links to your pieces. Send attachments only if you don't have your art uploaded elsewhere. If chosen, your art may be featured alongside the written works here. You may send a bio and and a link to a personal website to be included, as well.
